Prince Akeem, the 46th Alaafin of Oyo, a Nigerian-Canadian, Project Manager, entrepreneur, and visionary leader, is a descendant of the Owoade Royal family in Oyo town, Oyo State, Nigeria. As one of Pa Rasaki Ibiyosi Owoade’s existing children, he is a direct descendant of Aremo Aderounmu Iyanda Owoade from Agure Compound.

The newly pronounced Alaafin Oyo, Prince Akeem Abimbola Owoade, was born into the royal family of Owoade-Agunloye, Oyo town, Oyo State, in the 1970s. His father, Pa Rasaki Ibiyosi Owoade, was a descendant of Aremo Aderounmu Iyanda Owoade of Agure Compound, which shows Akeem Abimbola Owoade’s apparent connection to the Oyo kingdom.

His father, Pa Rasaki, worked with the Oyo North Agricultural Development Program (ONADEP) and used his services to improve the community’s agricultural productivity.

Prince Akeem Owoade had his secondary education at Baptist High School, Saki, Oyo State, Nigeria 1992. He bagged National Diploma and Higher National Diploma certifications in Mechanical Engineering at the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro Ogun State, from 1994 to 1997 and the Polytechnic of Ibadan, Oyo State, between 1999 and 2001, respectively.

After his HND program, he observed his one-year compulsory National Youth Service Corps at the Nigeria Gas Company in 2002.

As a lover of knowledge, Prince Akeem Abimbola did not limit his educational pursuits to HNDs. He moved to the United Kingdom to obtain higher certifications. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Sunderland in 2008 and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Northumbria University in 2012. He also earned a professional certificate in Project Management (PMP).

Immediately after his NYSC program, Prince Akeem Owoade worked as a teller with Oceanic Bank International PLC from 2003 to 2004 before he relocated to the United Kingdom to earn a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree.

Prince Abimbola once worked as a planning engineer at Oil Reach Company in Glasgow, United Kingdom, and is currently the project coordinator at Manitoba Hydro, Canada’s major electric power, natural gas, and extension provider.

Prince Owoade is also a seasonal entrepreneur and the president of 100279 Manitoba Limited, an investment firm that deals with real estate and financial services in Manitoba, Canada.
